On the 3rd of March, the touch rugby team had participated in the Karnival Ragbi Muo 10’s. Two teams, each consisting of 10 players, left college for MRSM Muar before sunrise. Upon arrival, we gathered under a tent and prepared ourselves for the upcoming games.
As we stepped into our battlefield, we were pumped up and determined to bring back the trophy. Although we did not play in our home ground, our spirits were still high. As a matter of fact, both teams qualified for the finals in our own categories, which were Bowl and Plate categories.
The results for semi-finals are as follows: KYS Team A won 3-0 against Adik Manis while KYS Team B won 1-0 against SMK Sultan Ismail (SSI). Unfortunately, every challenge didn’t turn out the way we wanted, as it started to rain heavily during our finals. We still did not give up at least for the sake of our efforts, sweat and tears. Instead, we looked at each other with the same mindset: “Girls it’s time to get muddy.”
We felt the adrenaline rush right before we stepped into the field for our final game where KYS Team A went against MRSM Muar while KYS Team B went against SBRC Orchid. Unfortunately, both KYS A and KYS B lost by only 1 point. Nevertheless, we were still proud of our achievements and took the defeat as a lesson to play better in our upcoming competitions.
After the game, we headed back to college with pride ad good experience. It is hoped that more students will join the touch rugby team to achieve greater heights.
We scrum for possession,
run for the try zone,
bleed for the team
and live for the game.
